HeirVault

Leave docs, logins, bank details, spreadsheets, will copies, and files for contacts you name. They claim when you can't. End-to-end encrypted. Your live vault encrypts in your browser before upload. That means HeirVault stores ciphertext and cannot decrypt your live vault.

Save your emergency kit

Your emergency kit holds a recovery phrase generated when you set up your vault. Keep it offline. It is the only way back in if you forget your passphrase.

  1. 1

    Save it during setup

When you create your vault, HeirVault shows a recovery phrase as part of your emergency kit. Write it down or store it somewhere only you control.

  2. 2

    Keep it offline and private

Do not email the kit to yourself or store it in the same place as your everyday passwords. A paper copy, a sealed envelope, or an offline store you already trust for recovery secrets are common choices.

  3. 3

Use it only if you lose the passphrase

If you forget your vault passphrase, use the recovery phrase from your emergency kit to regain access on your device. We cannot reset vault encryption for you.

  4. 4

If both are lost, contents stay encrypted

If the passphrase and recovery phrase are both gone, vault contents cannot be recovered by us or by anyone else. That is the tradeoff of keys that never leave your control.

Beneficiary delivery depends on the mode chosen for that contact (assisted, direct account, or owner-shared). The emergency kit is for your vault recovery, not for beneficiary claim access.
